Abuelo XII Three Angels is a more intense version of the award-winning Ron Abuelo Two Oaks a single estate rum from the distillery in Panama. Like Two Oaks, this is a blend of double-aged 12-year rums, first matured in white American oak bourbon casks, then in extra-charred new oak casks. Unlike Two Oaks, this release was bottled using rum exclusively from the casks on the top row of Ron Abuelo’s vintage pallet warehouses, where temperatures reach as high as 35°C. The Angel’s Share (the percentage of spirit that evaporates each year) reaches as much as 15% here (in Scotland it's only approx. 2-3%), an exceptionally high amount that inspired the name Three Angels. But these extreme daily changes in temperature and humidity also result in a rum with extraordinary complexity and flavour.

Perfect Serve:
A superb rum for cocktails such as a Rum Old Fashioned and for sipping neat.

Tasting Notes:
Exotic fruit, mocha coffee, toasted oak, vanilla, and roasted hazelnut.

Ron Abuelo’s hacienda is at the heart of Pesé – whose landscape and natural resources creates unique rums. Its luscious, fertile landscape, layered with greenery and steeped in history produces 1,600 hectares of sugar cane each year – a unique crop specially adapted to the weather conditions of the Pesé Valley. True to its heritage, the Ron Abuelo distillery continues to grow, harvest and ferment all the virgin sugar cane needed to produce its range of premium spirits from its Pesé hacienda, allowing control over the rum-making process from cane to case. Never ones to stand still, the family continues to innovate and create with the dedication, patience and attention to detail that comes with true craftsmanship.

A third-generation family-owned rum distillery with their own sugar cane plantation in Panama (est in 1908), Ron Abuelo controls the rum making process from cane to case.
