Barrell Bourbon New Year 2026 Limited Edition is a celebratory release crafted to mark the arrival of a new year with an exceptional bourbon experience. This annual, small-batch blend unites a variety of bourbons each with distinct ages, mash bills, and geographic origins from across the U.S. resulting in a uniquely layered and complex American whiskey. A favorite
among collectors, the New Year series showcases Barrell Craft Spirits’ mastery in blending and commitment to innovation.
Rich and oily bourbon characteristic of small craft distilleries is tempered by the clean, sweet, more mature spirit of the old guard. Together they yield a whiskey that’s at once fresh and complex, heavy yet crisp. The pomegranate and green apple of
youth play of the pumpkin pie of maturity to create a tipple with a broad spectrum of flavors.
Appearance: Graham Cracker
Nose: Heady, ripe stone fruits off the bat, namely white peach and Rainier cherry. There are fresh vegetal aromas of sugar snap pea and sorrel as they transition into more developed herbal notes of gentian and dill. The oak asserts itself in the form of maple sap, pistachio,
and wintergreen.
Palate: Fresh, almost crisp, as tart apple and meyer lemon take the stage. Earthier
hues emerge and expand to include oatmeal, pumpkin bread and clove. The texture has a heavy and oily quality, its mouthfeel enhanced by a lightly grippy astringency and rich, sweet molasses.
Finish: Pumpkin pie builds over time, adding in layers of traditional baking spices. Red
clover, sunflower seed, and roasted chestnut lend greater complexity.
With a splash of sping water: Notes of rose, lilac, and elderflower. Tarragon, fennel seed, and pine needle combine to resemble absinthe which carries on all the way through to the finish.
